The Portable Vane Shear Tester (3m) is a geotechnical instrument designed for on-site measurement of the undrained shear strength of cohesive soils. 
This system has a maximum testing depth of 3 meters and a measurement range of 0 to 260 kPa, with an accuracy better than 10%. 
The testing method involves manual penetration into the soil followed by a rotational test.

The instrument consists of 1 Torque Meter, 6 Extension Rods, 4 Vanes of different sizes, 1 Vane Rod, and 3 Auxiliary Wrenches.
Torque Meter: This is the strength measurement device. It measures the soil resistance against the shearing torque applied by the vane, thereby determining the shear strength of the tested soil.
Extension Rods: These rods connect the vane to the torque meter. There are 6 extension rods in total, each with a diameter of φ10 mm and a length of 500 mm. When connected end-to-end, they achieve the maximum depth of 3 meters.
Vanes: Four different sizes are provided to accommodate testing in soils with varying shear strengths.
